Title: Wheelchair backpack unloader
Description: The only obvious place to sling a backpack on a wheelchair is over the hand rests at the rear - pretty much out of reach. This project, completed by BCIT students in conjunction with Tetra's Vancouver chapter, sees a powered robotic arm created that swings a backpack round so that it's accessible. What you can see here is the prototype. The finished version is all aluminum, with a 3-D printed plastic cover to act as a rain shield over the motor. It's in use every day.
